I was born and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This stop-over of the ancient Silk Road is a land of rugged mountains, endless cotton fields, fruit orchards, and modern cities framed by the two thousand-year-old tradition of hospitality, arts, science and trade. I came to Montreal in 1973 and am presently residing with my family in Mississauga, Ontario.
As an artist and being a professional engineer and a musician, I have developed artistic ideas by synthesizing precise engineering objects and structures with the limitless possibilities of abstract forms, surrealistic images and musical symbols. My medium is primarily oil on canvas or board. I also create in brass and copper, a homage to the craftsmen of my home town. My images are often set in a stage-like environment, resonating with imaginary sounds.
My work has been exhibited in Montreal. Miami, Toronto, and Mississauga.
My paintings, prints, and brass embossing plates are held in private, corporate and institutional collections.
